Well, we are getting ready for this year and wanted to give a listing of the competitions we are looking to attend.  We are staying in Virginia this year since there are plenty of them to keep us busy and we seem to do better in "The Old Dominion".  We hope that you can join us or drop in at a competition. Well the season has finally started.  We always love Danville and were excited to start the year.  We usually compete in Bedford before Danville to warm-up, but Bedford is in June this year.  Two of the teams we were looking forward to seeing went down to Chesapeake to compete.  We should see them in Bedford!!!  We had a great time with constant threats of rain on both days.  However, we were prepared with sides for the canopy.  We figured out some ways to be more efficient and it helped us out a bunch, especially once we got a few beers down.  Michael fixed a rack of lamb with herb and balsamic glaze for the Anything Butt category.  I know that is pretty high class for us rednecks.  He took 2nd with that recipe and it was some kinda good...  We also cooked up some venison tenderloin wrapped in bacon just for us and friends.  See what your missing if you don't come to visit us.  The other meats fell in the middle of the pack.  We received some really good scores, but everybody brings their A game at these contests.  Below are the results.
